Task dependencies

Tasks in a gate follow a set order, and later tasks build on the output of earlier ones. Enzzo shows the order in a dependency chart and warns you in a task's chat when earlier tasks aren't done yet.
Why tasks follow an order
Each gate lists its tasks in a set order, and later tasks build on what earlier ones produce. The user journey, for example, is built around the persona from the task before it. If the persona is missing, the journey has less to work with.
Enzzo treats the order of the gate as the dependency: a task is ready when every task before it in the gate is done. Working in order means each task starts with the context it needs.
How Enzzo shows the order
• The task dependency chart: each gate has a chart that shows its tasks in order, so you can see which ones to do first.
• You can work out of order: every task stays open, even when earlier tasks aren't done yet.
• A warning in the task chat: if you open a task before the earlier tasks are done, a banner above the chat says "Important context missing. Complete previous tasks first for better results."
• The last task in each gate, the gate deck, doesn't show this warning, so you can open it at any point.

Example: Gate 1, Opportunity Screen

Task
What it does
1. Concept Exploration
Defines the product concept you are evaluating.
2. Target Segment & Proto-Persona
Identifies who the product is for and drafts a first persona.
3. User Journey
Maps how that persona experiences the problem and would use the product.
4. Market & Growth Sizing
Estimates the size of the market and how fast it is growing.
5. Competitive Landscape
Shows who else solves the problem and how.
6. White Space Evaluation
Finds the gaps competitors leave open.
7. Right-to-Win Assessment
Tests why your company is positioned to win.
8. Opportunity Screen
The decision point: pass the concept or revise it.
9. Risk Prospectus & Hypothesis Backlog
Lists the main risks and the hypotheses to test.
10. Problem Validation Planning & Promotion Readiness
Plans how to validate the problem in Gate 2 and checks readiness to move on.
11. Phase Wrap-Up (Gate Deck)
Pulls the gate's work into a deck for your gate review.
Pass or revise at the Opportunity Screen
At the Opportunity Screen, you and Enzzo review the evidence together, and you decide whether the concept passes or needs revising. Nothing is saved until you confirm.
• Pass: you move on to Risk Prospectus & Hypothesis Backlog and finish the gate.
• Revise: Enzzo saves this round of the Opportunity Screen, keeps the task open and sends you back to Concept Exploration to reshape the concept.
FAQ
Can I work on tasks out of order?
Yes. Every task stays open. If earlier tasks in the gate aren't done, the task's chat shows a warning, because the output is stronger with that context.
Why do I see "Important context missing" in a task?
Earlier tasks in the same gate aren't done yet. You can keep working, or finish those tasks first for better results.
What happens to my later tasks if I revise an earlier one?
Nothing resets. Later tasks keep their status and output, and Enzzo suggests which ones to refresh so they match the revised concept.
Who decides whether to pass or revise?
You do. Enzzo works through the evidence with you, and nothing is saved until you choose to pass or revise.
Can we change the order of the tasks?
Yes. Your admin can work with the Enzzo team to adjust the task order so it fits how your company runs its gates.
Where can I see the dependencies for the other gates?
Each gate has its own chart under Task Dependency Structure. Charts for later gates appear once those gates are turned on for your workspace.
